Belief and Truth

What is the relationship between belief and truth?  Belief may be a necessary starting point in the search for, or experience of Truth, but at some point belief must be augmented with or replaced by direct experience.  A quote may serve to express this:  “Belief is irrelevant to Truth which exists independently and eternally beyond the mind.”  –anonymous

Without the personal, direct experience of Truth, belief may eventually induce a sense of incompleteness and doubt which can lead to a questioning of the very beliefs that started one on a particular path.  This personal, direct experience is what the Greeks referred to as gnosis.  This knowledge is what Gnostics seek, and this is the path I will be on until I “know” the Truth!

Grand Delusion

Welcome to the Grand illusion
Come on in and see what’s happening
Pay the price, get your tickets for the show
The stage is set, the band starts playing
Suddenly your heart is pounding
Wishing secretly you were a star.

But don’t be fooled by the radio
The TV or the magazines
They show you photographs of how your life should be
But they’re just someone else’s fantasy
So if you think your life is complete confusion
Because you never win the game
Just remember that it’s a Grand illusion
And deep inside we’re all the same.
We’re all the same

So if you think your life is complete confusion
Because your neighbors got it made
Just remember that it’s a Grand illusion
And deep inside we’re all the same.
We’re all the same

America spells competition, join us in our blind ambition
Get yourself a brand new motor car
Someday soon we’ll stop to ponder what on Earth’s this spell we’re under
We made the grade and still we wonder who the hell we are . . .

-Styx

The profound illusion that the world of matter is the only true reality has lead the bulk of humanity into the darkest delusion of materialism.  No longer do we bathe in Light of the spirit whence we came and to which we shall return.  Our fleeting entrapment within the physical body is a golden opportunity to refine ourselves, burning off carnal impurities and leaving only pure Self to rise up and out into the Limitless Light.  An alchemical transmutation from the lead of base animal instinct to the gold of pure consciousness is humanity’s true destiny, but in a delusional state of mind we strive only for  immediate gratification of physical, selfish needs and desires.

The fulfillment of our destiny may require thousands of lifetimes, but our spiritual journey can start here and now in this life–we each have within ourselves a portion of divine consciousness isolated from its Source, yearning to be free and reunited with the All.  We have the ability to break out of the delusion with a simple choice and exercise of personal will and to love under Will our selves and others as we tune into our Higher Selves.  If our thoughts, emotions and actions are balanced and in complete alignment with spiritual (natural) law, the resulting harmony will melt away the delusion, and we will awaken into the beauty of divine expression of infinite love:  “love is the law, love under Will.”

Crossroads

Since I began this blog I have been waiting for people to show concern for what is happening on this planet and become inspired to express themselves by sharing their ideas and asking questions.  So far the response is less than inspirational for me.  So maybe I have been looking/hoping for inspiration in the wrong place and for the wrong reason.  Maybe my expectations are all wrong.  Maybe I shouldn’t expect anyone to want to open their eyes and awaken from a nightmare which may be much more comfortable than the harsh reality of being ‘awake’.

Having the knowledge of “good and evil” is one thing, but the realization that there are psychopaths in this world that possess a knowledge and deliberately wield  a power that enslaves and controls the unsuspecting and uncaring masses makes for a very difficult state of mind–one that I struggle with constantly.  My conflict is between choosing to do nothing or continuing to speak out (or write).  When push comes to shove, what will I really do?  Conform or rebel?  Give up or fight?  Live or die?  If I had no family to consider, my answer would be simple:  rebel and fight–live or die!  Why should my answer be any different with a family to consider?  It shouldn’t!  This is the heart of the matter.  I should be ready and willing to stand at the ‘Gates of Hell . . .’, rebel and fight to the death for Truth, family and my sacred honor not to mention my eternal soul.

So here I stand at the most significant crossroads of my life.  The choice of the direction I must take is simple;  the treading of the path will be most severe.  May God be merciful and gracious on and with me!

. . . and not back down!
